Congressman Ron Paul, who launched a Presidential exploratory committee in late April may be ready to pull the trigger on an official campaign for President in 2012.
Paul’s schedule sheepishly notes, of his appearance in Exeter, New Hampshire, that: “I may have a special announcement.”
This will be the third Presidential campaign for the outspoken Paul, who is known by many in Congress as “Dr. No” for his frequent opposition to government spending. He ran as the Libertarian Party’s nominee in 1988 and again as a Republican in 2008.
Paul announced his exploratory committee in Iowa, the state that will hold the first-in-the-nation caucus next January. It would make sense for him to now launch his actual campaign in New Hampshire, home of the first-in-the-nation primary.
