In an interview with David Frost that aired on Al Jazeera television last Friday, long shot GOP hopeful Fred Karger, the first openly gay candidate to seek a major-party presidential nomination, described the current field of Republican presidential candidates as “mediocre” and that presumptive front-runner Mitt Romney is “yesterday’s news.”
The 61-year-old Karger, who was the first Republican candidate to formally declare his candidacy, also told Frost that he would welcome Sarah Palin into the race.
