Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who officially tossed his hat into the ring on Monday, has reportedly launched the presidential campaign’s first paid advertising, a 60-second satellite radio spot that will run for two weeks on the Fox radio network and on select stations in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Santorum clearly positions himself as a fiscal hawk during the 60-second spot, railing against the national debt and government entitlements.
“Over half of America now receives some sort of government benefit, and forty cents of that dollar that they’re getting, they’re charging their children and grandchildren for the rest of their lives to pay the debt service on the money that they’re receiving. That is immoral. That is wrong,” he says in the ad.
