The Daily Telegram of Adrian, Michigan, officially endorsed Libertarian Gary Johnson for President on Sunday, adding a second daily newspaper to Johnson’s column.
The paper, which has been publishing since 1892, is the primary newspaper serving Lenawee county. The area has a population of about 100,000 people.
The paper’s editorial board writes, in part:
The Daily Telegram editorial board believes on balance that former two-term New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, is not only better qualified than either Obama or Romney, but also represents the principles of limited government and personal freedom and responsibility that America today desperately needs.
Johnson’s background reflects the entrepreneurial spirit his policies would encourage. He began a construction business going door-to-door while a college student, and built it into one of New Mexico’s largest.
In 1994 he was elected governor on a fiscally conservative, anti-crime platform. He used vetoes to cut the state’s spending growth by 10 percent, and was re-elected by a wide margin after campaigning on school choice and marijuana decriminalization before reaching his state’s term limit. His positions, which fall in line with neither liberal nor conservative orthodoxy, reflect a true limited-government philosophy.

Gary Johnson previously received the endorsement of The Chattanooga Times Free Press last month, one of the largest newspapers in Tennessee.
