Idaho’s Libertarian candidate for governor, John Bujak, is getting some attention for his opposition to the state’s ban on gay marriage.
“Government needs to be as limited as possible, and I don’t think government should be in the business of telling people how to make choices in their lives,” Bujak said in an interview with Local News 8 in Idaho Falls.
Bujak is the wild card in the governor’s race. A former Republican who was elected as Canyon County’s prosecutor, his background is somewhat colored by allegations of corruption. Bujak says they were politically-motivated attacks from a corrupt Republican machine. Forced to defend himself in five criminal trials during the past three years, the Libertarian nominee was acquitted each time.
