The Libertarian nominee for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, Sean Haugh, engaged a critic on Facebook last week with disastrous results. Janna Badalian repeatedly told Haugh that he must drop out of the race in order to help the Republican candidate win. Haugh’s initial response was that the Republican nominee will have only himself to blame if he loses. The Libertarian suggested that the Republican was unelectable.
Badalian shot back: “If you say he’s unelectable you are obviously detached from reality. So much so that I’m think you’re a Dem plant.”
“Well obviously our realities are quite detached,” Haugh told the antagonistic woman. “I prefer my reality over yours, because logic, reason and evidence exist in mine. I pity ignorant morons such as yourself and wish you would stop voting.”
Things only got worse from there, as Haugh added: “I have learned that there is no value in explaining to an idiot why they are being an idiot, because, y’know, they’re too stupid to understand anything.”
Haugh has dropped from eleven percent in the polls to only five percent as his campaign seems to be unraveling.
