Senator Rand Paul tossed some cold water on supports who hoped the Texas Congressman might continue his bid outside of the Republican Party if he’s unsuccessful in winning the GOP nomination. Being interviewed by Paul Westcott on New Hampshire’s WGIR-AM while campaigning on behalf of his father, Rand Paul notes: “But if the Tea Party branches off it will be a certain election for President Obama and there hasn’t been any evidence that third parties — look at even Perot, which was the biggest movement we’ve had in recent years… he spent at least probably $100 million and he got 19% and no electoral votes.”
When asked, Congressman Ron Paul has repeatedly stated he’s not interested in a third party bid, but doesn’t want to close the door on any possibility.
