The New Hampshire Union-Leader’s senior political writer John DiStaso’s reports that long-shot GOP presidential hopeful Thad McCotter has appointed radio talk show host Chris Buck to direct his campaign in the Granite State.
“I’ll be in charge of day-to-day operations here in New Hampshire and will be looking to hire additional staff very shortly,” said the 31-year-old Buck, a Dover attorney.
Buck said that he’ll be running McCotter’s campaign in New Hampshire without a specific title, explaining that McCotter’s candidacy wasn’t a traditional, title driven campaign.
In accepting his role in the campaign, Buck described the low-key Michigan congressman as “the true anti-Obama. Obama is all fluff while McCotter, while soft-spoken and intellectual, has real answers to our problems.”
The unorthodox, guitar-playing McCotter, a five-term member of the U.S. House and former chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, announced his candidacy at a music festival in his home state of Michigan during the July 4 holiday weekend.
